MANSFIELD, OH- A craft show was held and S/C Event Center on Saturday to support Stormy Cushing.

Co-Owner of S/C parties and Stormy's aunt, Carmen Armstrong said that the event was very important to the Cushing family.

"She is a wonderful girl, she is also my niece.   She was in a traumatic vehicle accident nine and a half years ago, that she has fought every day, to be where she is today."

Stormy was a senior in high school at the time of the accident.  Doctors were unsure that Stormy would make it, but through lots of love and extensive therapy, Stormy beat the odds.  The proceeds from this event went to pay for Stormy's therapy.

"She requires therapy, a lot of therapy.  One of the therapies is, she'll go to Florida and there is specialized therapy for her, however, insurance doesn't cover that, so we're doing this to raise money to get her there," Armstrong said.  "We just couldn't pass up the chance to help her family.  They're just wonderful."

S/C Parties hosts a lot of events to help people and organizations throughout the community according to Co-Owner, Sonya Francis.

"We like doing this, we like helping people that need just a little bit of extra," Francis said.

The event meant a lot to Stormy and her family.

"This means a bunch, that the people are coming here just for me," said a smiling Stormy.

The event allowed the community to see how beautiful Stormy is inside and out.

"You guys would not meet a better, more sweet girl in your life," Armstrong said.  "And what we do here, to help her get to where she needs to be, is good for your heart."
