RICHLAND COUNTY, OH - On Tuesday, METRICH Enforcement Unit detectives arrested a suspect after a short-term drug trafficking investigation that yielded several seizures of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Working with the Mansfield Division of Police, the METRICH Unit arrested and charged the suspect, Anthony M. White, with two counts of Trafficking in Heroin, and two counts of Trafficking in Fentanyl. Police seized 30-unit doses of prescription medications, 6 grams of (suspected) crack cocaine, and $1,342 in U.S. currency during the course of the investigation.

"During the investigation and after analysis of the seized evidence, the Mansfield Division of Police Forensic Science Section notified METRICH detectives that the (suspected) heroin was actually fentanyl," said Lieutenant Joseph D. Petrycki, METRICH Commander. "Due to the fact the lab testing showed it was fentanyl, METRICH detectives made it a top priority to get him incarcerated as soon as possible. The METRICH Enforcement Unit will continue to target those individuals that sell drugs - especially fentanyl - in Richland County."

Citizens are encouraged to continue to be proactive by reporting suspected drug activity. Citizens can call the METRICH Crime Tip Hotline at 419-522-7463 or the Task Force line at 419-755-9728.
