Mansfield Police Pay Tribute To Fallen Officers

MANSFIELD, OH - As part of National Police Week (during the month of May in the calendar week of May 15th), the Mansfield Police Department held a small ceremony to honor the lives of fallen officers.

"We do this every year," said Mansfield Police Chief Keith Porch. "It's extremely important to the men and women of the Mansfield Police Department that we honor those that have fallen in the past for the admission of protecting life and property of the citizens of Mansfield."

For the duration of their eight-hour shift, the Mansfield Honor Guard stood post at the plaques, photos, and memorials of officers who will be forever remembered for their service to the Mansfield and Richland County area.

"They will pay homage and honor their sacrifice by posting the guards with them," Porch said.
