Two Transported By Helicopter After Crash In Knox County

FREDERICKTOWN, OH - The Ohio Highway Patrol Mount Gilead Post is currently investigating a one vehicle injury crash. 

The crash occurred on June 13th, 2019 at approximately 8:40 A.M on County Road 6 near Hyatt Road in Morris Township, Knox County. 

A 2000 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Jamie D. Beckett was traveling southbound on County Road 6. Beckett drove off the right side of the roadway, which then caused Beckett to over correct back onto the roadway and overturn onto its right side. 

The vehicle then went off the left side of the roadway and rolled multiple times, ejecting the driver and passenger before coming to a final rest in a field. 

Beckett was then transported by AirEvac to Grant Medical Center with life threatening injuries. The passenger, Jaron M. Dean, age 32 of Fredericktown, was also transported by Survival Flight to Grant Medical Center with incapacitating injuries. 

The driver and passenger were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Alcohol is not a suspected factor in the crash. 

Fredericktown Fire Department and Mount Vernon Fire Department assisted the Ohio Highway Patrol on scene. 

The crash remains under investigation.
