MANSFIELD, OH - In a little church in Mansfield, a man named William Cole is changing lives in big ways. As a leader of the "Impacting Addiction With Christ" Program, William has opened conversations about addiction, faith, and recovery every week in his church.

A former addict himself, William knows the struggles of addiction all too well. By 18, he was in prison, and by the age of 38, he became not only an addict, but an alcoholic. He turned his life around and began to try and help others that were in his situation.

"I understand them because I've been in their shoes. I sit with them because I've been where they're at. Every step they're taking, I took," Cole said. "For me, I found the Lord, and everything changed. It changed my heart, my mind, everything about me."

Throughout each meeting, William and his staff try to engage with those battling addiction and offer them solutions and get them into detoxification services. Those who have no homes are offered temporary places to stay. Since 2014, Cole has seen numerous friends and family members suffer and die from addiction. With the "Impacting Addiction With Christ" Program, he's hoping to try and save those that are in need of some help.
