MANSFIELD, OH- Flooding caused many road closures throughout Richland and surrounding counties on Sunday.

Mansfield Main Street under the U.S. 30 bridge was hit especially hard.  A sedan and a mini van became trapped in the high waters under the bridge.

Flood warnings throughout the area were issued on Saturday night and lasted through Sunday.

Two to three inches of rain caused already wet ground and high water areas to flood some roadways.

With more rain in the forecast remember that if you come across a flooded area while driving, turn around, don't drown.

The National Weather Service reports that the majority of drowning deaths occur in vehicles.  Do not drive thorugh the flood waters, instead find an alternate route.
