One Dead After Motorcycle Crash In Knox County

KNOX COUNTY, OH- One person is dead after a two vehicle motorcycle involved crash that occurred at approximately 1:28 pm on Saturday in Knox County.

The crash occurred on State Route 514 near mile marker 4.  The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that 52-year old William Burkhart of Wooster was driving his 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle north on State Route 514 in Knox County.

Burkart lost control of his motorcycle while turning and was ejected into the southbound lane as 45-year old Tara Demers was traveling south on State Route 514 in a 2015 Nissan Altima.

The Altima struck Burkhart after he was ejected from his motorcycle.  Burkhart was flown by AirEvac to Grant Medical Center where he died from the injuries he sustained in the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Knox County Sheriff's Office, Eastern Knox EMS & Fire Department were all on the scene.

Burkhart was not wearing a helmet at the time of the fatal accident.  The crash remains under investigation.
