BUCYRUS, OH - Patriotic citizens of Bucyrus lined the city streets of Bucyrus to greet the convoy of Highway Patrol officers, bikers, and other vehicles as they helped transport The Wall That Heals to Caledonia on Tuesday afternoon.

The Wall That Heals, a program that's a part of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, travels throughout the United States to help allow Veterans who are interested in seeing the memorial within their own communities. David Christman, a Bucyrus native who observed the convoy on its way through Bucyrus, spoke to WMFD about what The Wall That Heals makes him feel.

"It means a lot," Christman said. One of Christman's friends was a casualty of the Vietnam War, something that Christman found hard to talk about. "There are a lot of emotions. Can't explain it any better than that."

Despite the threat of rain, the convoy of hundreds of motorcycle riders pressed on, which Christman appreciated.

"These bikers... they were calling for awful weather this afternoon," Christman noted. "They showed up anyway. That's amazing."

Christman and scores of others cheered the convoy on as they passed through the city, with lights and sirens blaring the whole way. According to the Wall's official 2019 tour schedule, the display will be open in Caledonia, OH from July 18th through July 21st before moving on to Stillwater, Minnesota.
